Complete error description: “Etsy shipping profile: ZIP code is invalid”; “Postal Code is Invalid”.
Cause
What does this error mean?
The Etsy error “shipping profile: ZIP code is invalid” means that there is an inconsistency between the delivery profile data and the declared ZIP code.
What is a shipping profile?
Shipping_profile is the shipping rule you must have inside each of your Etsy accounts. It is required by Etsy, and sometimes it is also called “Delivery profile”.
Solutions
This error message is returned by Etsy. It depends on the Postal code of the shipping template you’re currently using.
Check on the following possible solutions to sort this error out:
- A mismatch between the Country of Origin and the ZIP code
Check your ZIP Code in your Etsy shipping settings:
- Open “Etsy Shop Manager“
- Click on “Settings and select “Shipping profiles”.
- Check if the ZIP code matches the Country you’re shipping from (AKA the country of “Origin”).
- If everything is okay, proceed by selecting it in Nembol: click on settings next to the Etsy icon > list to Etsy settings > select a delivery template > save.
- Incorrect format
If the ZIP code matches the country, then it could be that the postal code you entered might not follow the proper format for your country.
Postal code formats can vary between countries, and even within regions of the same country. Make sure you’re entering the correct number of digits and any additional characters required. - Non-existent or unrecognized postal code
It’s possible that the Postal code you provided does not exist or is not recognized by the postal service or shipping carrier. This could be due to a typo, outdated information, or changes in postal code boundaries.
If, despite the checks and corrections, it still doesn’t work, consider creating a different template (even with the same shipping info) to associate with Nembol.
